LUBOFÉ

EP/AW additives for high-performance lubricants

Fluorine-containing additives from perfluorence with excellent “extreme-pressure” (EP) and “anti-wear” (AW) properties are the basis for formulating highly stressed lubricants in the form of oils, greases and waxes.

These additives are applied in lubricants used in the fields of metalworking, rope lubrication and for highly stressed industrial gears.

Benefits and advantages

  • 100% extension of service intervals of high-performance gear units
  • 5% energy saving

Applications

Additives and batches for the production of oils, greases and waxes for

  • Ropes and cables
  • High performance and micro gearboxes
  • Railroad switches
  • Metal forming
plastics

TRIBOFÉ

self-lubricating high-performance plastics

The perfl uorence high-performance plastics can be processed to semi-fi nished products in the form of rods, pipes, sheets, films and fibre.

They can also be used in injection moulding. In addition to a better wear resistance and less friction the plastics offer an improved run-in behavior, an excellent impact resistance and minimal noise emissions.

Benefits and advantagese

  • 10-fold increase in service life of plastic components
  • High wear resistance

Applications

Plastic granules for the production by injection molding or extrusion of

  • Sliding bearings, bodies and guide rails
  • Seals
  • Ball bearing cages
  • Gear wheels

Special advantages of those unique TRIBOFÉ Plastics

  • superb sliding properties
  • outstanding wear resistance
  • improved abrasion resistance
  • excellent run-in behavior
  • reduction of noise emissions
  • great impact resistance
  • stable processing properties
  • homogeneous appearance

Innovative self-lubricating plastics with friction-reducing solid lubricant

Essential components such as bushings, thrust washers, ball bearing cages, bearings, gear mechanisms, valves and other sliding elements are subject to high stress and strains. Through mechanical loads and friction forces under high temperature conditions, current material blends with solid lubricant particles gradually result in seperation processes. This eventually leads to enormous friction between the internal components and fi nally to a breakdown.

The components moving against one another require a homogeneously distributed and interconnected solid lubricant with a processing-stable morphology to run smooth.

The perfluorence GmbH
offers the solution for this problem

The perfluorence GmbH, a spin-off from the Leibniz-Institut of Polymer Research Dresden (IPF), offers the solution for this problem: new developed innovative high-performance lubricants and unique plastics, realised by a reactive processing of the additive polytetrafl uoroethylene (PTFE) with high-performance plastics such as polyethertherketone (PEEK), polyphenylene sulfi de (PPS) and polysulfon (PSU).

On the basis pf functionalized PTFE the perfl uorence offers new friction-reducing additives and self-lubricating high-performance plastics which are customized or individually processed. The corporate perfl uorence GmbH also provides functionalized PTFE powder for compounders by means of optimize the tribological properties, increasing the
impact strength and homogeneity.

This product is merchandised with the trade name “TRIBOMER PTFE”. Under the trade name “TRIBOFÉ coat” are currently being developed antifriction coating systems based on PAI

This is what a high-performance material looks like: Raw pellets after reactive extrusion. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is chemically coupled to PEEK (polyetheretherketone) or PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) or PSU (polysulfone).
